With Thanksgiving right around the corner I would like to take a few moments to express my heartfelt gratitude. Gratitude, appreciation, recognition and seeing of others are all “arms of love” according to Angeles Arrien, author of The Four-Fold Way.
What I am most grateful for. I am grateful for my community. It is such a gift to find one’s “tribe” in life. To have a place you can fully show up as who you are and to be loved and valued for your uniqueness. It is such a gift for me to be able to speak from my heart and my truth and to be met and understood.
I have gratitude for my life – the life I am living. I realize a moment in time that would be a turning point in my life was when I learned about following what has heart and meaning to me. Letting go of the “shoulds” and being the nice, good girl pleasing others – who was dying inside. Turning to what I had passion for, what made my heart sing and made me feel alive. About 11 years ago I looked at my life –to all the things I was doing because others expected it but I no longer enjoyed doing. I made a commitment to follow my heart. It took many years of letting go of all the things that weren’t completely aligned to my heart.
I love the life I have created and I am living now. I realized the other day that all I do revolves around my commitment to create a world of love that works for all life. Creating the Guiding Signs 101 cards. Creating MoonBear Sanctuary bringing in cutting edge workshops and events of the heart. Leading the Women’s journey to Guatemala in December around the 20 day Mayan Calendar and an activation within each participant. My involvement of two Mayan films: Mayan Renaissance, that is being created by Peace Jam and also The Unification of Wisdom and 2012 by Outside the Box productions. I am also becoming a Presenter for the WE (Women’s Empowerment channel) for CANDO networks. I have a commitment to bring forward the voices that have been suppressed and being a sword of truth on our planet.
I am so grateful for all the love and the people in my life. I love my friends. It feels so great to have friends who are committed to consciousness growth –evolution. We use things that come up that are uncomfortable to be a mirror into seeing parts of ourselves that may not be pleasant but help us grow and evolve. So instead of it creating separation it brings growth and connection, trust, love, awareness and openness.
I also love how my friends inspire me. Yesterday I had lunch with two close girlfriends, one just back from leading a trip to the rainforest that we have lead together in the past. Being in the rainforest is the place that charges her batteries. Literally, after being there she lights up so bright Santa would not need Rudolf to lead his sleigh. My two friends and I have been part of a Master Mind group with each other for several years now. Listening to each others dreams, giving suggestions when asked and totally seeing each other in our highest and best selves. It is such a gift!
Later that evening I talked to a friend I rarely get to talk to but as soon as I hear her voice my heart begins to sing. She is so committed to truth and to heart and everything she shares I always wish I had turned on my tape recorder to record our conversation. There are several friends I have that feeling with! Our conversations touch a deep place within!
I am so thankful for the women I work with, what an incredible team! Wow. They are so creative and self motivated. I am amazed daily at what they come up with. I feel so blessed to be part of this awesome group. My heart and passions burn so bright working with them. Not only the women in my immediate circle of work but all the people that touch my life in myriads of ways. I feel so blessed to have such caring and loving people that show up in so many different ways.
I am so deeply thankful for my son and the amazing man he is. So thankful for how he lives with integrity and really simply. He has never been into things and the whole concept of “more being better”. I appreciate his beautiful heart and his talent in film and art. I love and appreciate my mother. How she takes such good care of herself and others. She creates beauty in all she does; from her home and garden to all she touches. I told her I hope I come back as a Virgo and every drawer and cupboard is totally organized like in her house. I am thankful for my sisters and brother, nieces and nephews and grand-niece.
I am thankful for my health. Thankful for all the amazing healers and teachers and mentors that are in my life now and have been in the past.
I love where I live, an old gold mining town with darling Victorian houses in town. Beautiful forests and lakes and the incredible Yuba river running through. I have found nature is my most potent medicine. She nurtures my heart and soul. When I get really depleted I go to the river and get held by her banks and nourished by the huge stones. I love the four seasons and the bright red leaves on the dogwood tree outside my window now. Leaves falling softly like raindrops.
Sometimes my heart feels like it can’t contain the love and joy that is overflowing. Just writing this creates that feeling. I am so thankful for all the possibilities that exist. I am thankful to be living at this moment in time.
I invite you to take a few moments and write down your gratitudes!!
